HOW WE TRAIN

Comprehensive training to build Athleticism, Resilience and Confidence.

Speed & Agility

What is Speed & Agility?

Moving the body in one direction as fast as possible coupled with the ability to accelerate, decelerate, stabilize, and quickly change directions with proper posture.

Why is Speed & Agility important?

Athletes experience more success and have more confidence on their chosen field of play when they work to improve their speed and agility. They’ll react faster, move more fluidly, and make more plays.

How do we train Speed & Agility?

Redline teaches proper running mechanics and posture while incorporating dedicated focus on linear speed, lateral speed, footwork, change of direction, jumping and landing.

What is Strength & Conditioning?

Engaging in activities to improve performance by applying the general sports training principles of overload, reversibility, progression, individualization, periodization, and specificity. (ref 1, 2)

Why is Strength & Conditioning important?

To achieve their full potential, aspiring Athletes must understand proper posture, balance their movement patterns, build supporting and stabilizing muscle groups, improve mobility, and enhance their coordination. (ref 3)

How we train Strength & Conditioning?

Redline believes in age-appropriate strength and resistance training. We prioritize safety in every movement by focusing on proper mechanics first, followed by consistency, and then intensity.

Injury Prevention

What is Injury Prevention?

The outcome of the collective training activities consistently performed by an athlete to help him/her avoid major or season-ending injury.

Why is Injury Prevention important?

Athletes want to be able to perform at their best, and they never want to miss out on games or competitions due to injury.  Well-rounded Athletes who train their body and movement patterns will be better prepared, more resilient, and able to thrive throughout the demands of a season, postseason and beyond.

How do we train Injury Prevention?

Redline provides a comprehensive and well-rounded program to develop speed, agility, strength, body awareness, movement mechanics, and posture. In all, it’s a great way to help ensure your Athlete stays strong, ready, and on their chosen field of play.

THE Mount Pleasant PERFORMANCE TEAM

Redline Coaches have a passion for Athletes. Their battle-tested professional and collegiate experience combined with their education and certifications create a positive, high-energy environment.

Holly Owens

Holly Owens

Coach Holly is a Redline Sports Performance Coach with extensive experience training athletes in volleyball, track, and soccer. A former college volleyball player, her own injury sparked a passion for strength training, injury prevention, and athlete development. With 13+ years of coaching experience at the youth, middle school, and high school levels, she has also coached club volleyball for four years and co-led eight consecutive winning seasons in high school volleyball. Additionally, she started a post-season training program for 5th-8th graders to help young athletes continue developing their skills.

Beyond volleyball, Holly has trained soccer players, led track conditioning, and developed a successful high school conditioning and mental game program. Her focus is on building strong, stable, and flexible athletes while emphasizing nutrition for endurance and longevity. Since joining Redline, she has been dedicated to helping athletes start early and train in a way that best supports their bodies. As a personal trainer and nutrition coach, Holly finds the greatest joy in seeing athletes succeed and reach their goals.

Athletes training with Coach Holly can expect a no-excuses approach built on integrity, discipline, and mental toughness—values that translate far beyond sports. She believes in pushing athletes to their highest potential while providing the tools needed for long-term success. Guided by the verse Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” she is  passionate about helping athletes develop not only physically but also in character and confidence.

Above all,  Holly finds the greatest joy in family. As a proud mother of four, she loves cheering on her two college athletes and supporting all of her children in their journeys, both in sports and   in life.

Ryan Stulgin (Coach Stulg)

Director of Business Development

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and grew up playing almost every sport imaginable. I eventually narrowed it down to baseball and football in high school and accepted an invitation to walk-on to the Southern Illinois University football team. I transferred to Northern Illinois University and earned my BA in Corporate Communications.

After college, I began a career in recreational sports management in the Chicagoland area. On a business trip to California, I met my wife Shannon, who convinced me to move to LA where I pursued a profession in gym facility management and fitness coaching/personal training.

Shannon and I relocated to Mt. Pleasant in July 2022 to be closer to family and embrace the southern charm of Charleston. During my free time, I enjoy cooking (especially smoking meat), visiting national parks and nature areas and relaxing on the beach with Shannon and our daughter, Charlotte.

I am thrilled to be working with our athletes and helping them reach their full sports performance potential!

Maddie Godfrey

Maddie Godfrey

Hi, my name is Maddie! I am originally from Virginia but moved to the Charleston area after graduating from James Madison University in May 2024. There, I earned my bachelor’s in Health Sciences and Business. I have a background in multiple sports, with softball being my primary interest. I was a catcher and played outfield throughout 8u-18u travel, middle, and high school. Additionally, I played intramural in college and adult league in my hometown. I have a 2 year background in physical therapy as a technician, and am actively working towards getting accepted into a PT program. When I am not working, I enjoy reading, any outdoor activity, visiting family, and spending time with friends. I look forward to coaching you here at Redline!

Weston Brooks

Weston Brooks

My passion for sports started at a very young age. Growing up I was a 3 sport athlete playing Baseball, Basketball, Football. My love for sports only continued to grow over time and my dream was to play college baseball. I was able to live out that dream, continuing my baseball and academic career at Southern Virginia University, but it was a short-lived college career and I decided to come back to South Carolina. My love and passion for sports and strength and conditioning made me want to stick with it and find a way to stay around the sports world. Redline gave me that opportunity to keep doing what I love and also inspiring youth athletes to chase their own goals. I look forward to inspiring more youth athletes to chase their dreams and goals and getting 1% better each and every day!
