Tyson holds a BA in Kinesiology. He then became certified by the national strength and conditioning association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). As he continued on with his career as a strength coach serving as the lead strength and conditioning coach for various high level high school athletic programs, he continued his education in strength and conditioning as well. During this time he became certified through The International Youth Conditioning Association as a Youth Fitness Specialist (YFS:1-3); Youth Nutrition Specialist (YNS); and High School Strength and Conditioning Specialist (HSSCS). In his pursuit of knowledge he noticed a true connection with the body from injury prevention training. To build that knowledge base he became certified through the National Academy of Sports and Nutrition as a Performance exercise Specialist (PES), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and Certified Sports Nutrition Coach (CSNC). Since 2008, Tyson has heavily followed chiropractic services, sports medicine doctors, and other performance based strength coaches. Because the industry is so dynamic and the athletes prove to be the same. As a strength coach Tyson has decided to be as well.
Blessings and hello my name is Maurice Whitehurst, also known as Coach Mo. I am the Director of sports performance here at Redline Kensington. I have always been a firm believer that there is no goal that is unattainable, and I love to help assist others in achieving their goals. I first gained an interest in coaching and mentoring athletes when I saw the role a dedicated coach played in my life. He helped me learn how to hold myself to a high standard on and off the court, and from there I wanted to help others do the same. This journey started with me mentoring athletes in basketball, building training programs to develop their skill set, as well as mentorship to help develop their character. A saying that I live by is “to whom much is given much is required”. I personally feel as though I have been given an opportunity to experience many different things in life so that I can help shape this next generation of athletes to be equipped to also hold themselves to higher standards on and of the fields of their respective sports.
Basketball Achievements:
-Played for Frederick Douglass High School
-Played for PG Community College were lead team in points and rebounds, and was ranked in the nation as an individual player and team.
-Played for C.W Post Long Island University where in his senior year helped lead the team to the conference final game.
-Signed with AI Sports Management
-Worked closely with kids as a mentor (life coach) and basketball trainer
Hello, my name is Joshua Wangwe I am a Sports performance specialist here at Redline Athletics. I graduated with a degree in kinesiology from the University of Maryland. During that time I interned with the University of Maryland Basketball team strength and conditioning coach. This is where I experience how Division 1 athletes train. I am very passionate about helping youth athletes increase their overall performance because as their performance increases, so will their confidence and that confidence will bring out their excitement in any sport that they are playing. Our goal here at Redline with every athlete is for them to leave with the three S’s which are Smile,Sweat and Sore.
