We spoke with Che Woods, a new franchise owner in Glen Burnie, Maryland, to find out more about what opening a Redline Athletics Center means to his family and community. 

Why did you choose to get involved with Redline Athletics?

“As a kid, I had a love for sports. Redline Athletics allows me to combine my passion for sports and teaching kids,” says Woods. As the father of two active boys involved in basketball, football, and track, athletics runs in the family. He’s excited to offer young people the positive influence of sports performance training – not just for his own children, but for the entire community.

 

What was your background before becoming a Redline franchisee?

“I served 10 years in the US Navy as an Information Systems Security Engineer,” explains Woods. In addition to being a Veteran, he continues to work in the IT field while he owns and operates Redline Athletics. 

 

What specifically attracted you to a Redline Athletics franchise?

“It just seemed like a perfect fit. After doing research and talking with the Redline Athletics Support Center, I appreciated that we train for more than just one sport, and I like how we incorporate Fusionetics and proper movement into our training,” shares Woods.

What kind of background does your staff have?

“Redline Athletics is known for their experienced coaches and sports directors, and the solid team at Glen Burnie is no different,” says Woods. His incredible staff have played collegiate sports, hold college and postgraduate degrees in related fields, and have earned several training certificates. 

 

How will your Redline location affect your community?

“Since opening in February, we already have 115 members!” says Woods. “There’s really nothing else like it in the area, and it feels so good to have a place where people can gather and get to know each other.” 

The Redline Athletics staff is ready to train athletes ages 8-18, to help them achieve their goals – regardless of their chosen field of play.    

 

How will your Redline location help families?

“We’ve been the answer for many families in the area looking to get their kids back into being active again after a difficult year,” says Woods. He’s looking forward to bringing people together and building community bonds. 

 

What makes your location unique?

“There isn’t anything like this for miles! There are some basketball courts here and there, but nothing like our center,” says Woods. Part of what makes Redline Athletics such an attractive facility is their ability to adapt their training to any sport. Redline believes that building comprehensive athleticism will help ANY athlete achieve more, and compete at a higher level.

 

What are some of your goals for your first year open?

“We’re really looking forward to starting some community events,” says Woods. “We’ve got some summer barbecues planned, and we’re offering the community an opportunity to tour the facility. On Fridays, we’re going to start doing competitions and giving Redline gift cards to the winners. Eventually, we want to give away 5 free memberships a year to families in need.”
