1 ON 1 TRAINING AND LESSONS

Concentrate on specific skills to enhance your game. Typically, 1-on-1 sessions are scheduled for 30 to 60 minutes and must be scheduled in advance with your trainer.

INTRO TO SPORTS

Professionally-coached early athletic development program tailored for athletes ages 3 to 7 of any skill level.  They’ll enjoy learning to catch, throw, kick, run, skip and more in this fun, upbeat program.

Redline Coaches have a passion for Athletes. Their battle-tested professional and collegiate experience combined with their education and certifications create a positive, high-energy environment.

Mike Malone

Director of Sports Performance

Redline Athletics Morristown training staff is led by former Division 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach, Mike Malone. Mike brings a wide range of knowledge to all of his training programs via his 15 years of experience in professional and collegiate Strength and Conditioning programs, including University of Kentucky (member of the 2012 men’s basketball national championship team), University of Minnesota and Los Angeles Angels minor league system. Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and is an NSCA-certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.    

Mike has an extensive background working with youth athletes at every level and has trained a 1st round draft pick in all 4 major sports (NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL).  Athletes that Mike has personally trained are:

NBA – Anthony Davis, James Harden, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Enes Kanter, Nerlens Noel, Brandon Knight, Rajon Rando, Julius Randle, Karl Anthony Towns

Marcus Ferguson

Sports Performance Specialist

Marcus “Ferg” Ferguson serves as a Sports Performance Specialist where he is responsible for the training, development and skill assessment of athletes. He has his Master’s in Sports Administration/Exercise Science and Bachelor’s in Sports Management, both from University of Akron. Marcus also holds certifications in CPR/AED, Sports Training and Personal Training.

Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Marcus attained numerous athletic achievements, both in football and track. Collegiately, Marcus was a 3-year NCAA Division 1 Regional Qualifier, 3-year letterman, and was a part of the 5-Team MAC Championships. Marcus was a 4-year high school letterman in football and 3-year letterman in track and field. He also holds the undefeated State Record for the 4×200 relay, with a time of 1:26:18. 

After graduation, Marcus returned to the University of Akron as a Coach, providing speed and agility training and development for his student athletes. During his tenure with the Zips, he earned 3 Team MAC Championships and coached 8 NCAA Division 1 Regional Qualifier athletes, 8 NFL athletes, and 1 Olympian. 

Marcus is passionate about providing individualized training to athletes, with the goal of helping them achieve their personal/athletic goals and looks forward to providing specialized instruction related to strength and conditioning.

Recent and current NFL/XFL athletes that Marcus has trained are:

Kyron Brown (Jets),  Carl Davis Jr. (Colts, Jaguars), Delone Carter (Colts – retired), Doran Grant (Steelers, DC Defenders), Christian Bryant (Rams), Bryce Jones (Texans)

Michael Hinkle

Director of Business Development

Michael Hinkle is Youth Sports Performance of New Jersey/Morris Plains’ inaugural employee and will be serve as the Director of Business Development for the Morristown facility. Michael brings with him a wealth of Redline Athletics and basketball/baseball/volleyball playing, coaching and training experience.

Michel began his Redline career as a Sports Performance Specialist in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and was promoted to Director of Business Development in July 2019. Over the course of six months, Michael was a key contributor in helping to double the Sterling Heights’ membership base. Michael joined the New Jersey team in March 2020 and is excited to share his passion of helping to train and empower the next generation of athletes in New Jersey!

Collegiately,  Michael earned a basketball scholarship from Spring Arbor University (Spring Harbor, MI).  In his four years at Spring Arbor, Michael was a defensive specialist who played a key role in helping to lead the program to its first two national basketball championships (NAIA) in program history. He was selected as an Academic All-American in his senior year.   

Michael has over 15 years’ coaching and training experience across baseball, basketball and volleyball.   His 360 degree understanding of Redline value proposition, from player to coach to trainer, gives Michael a complete perspective when representing Redline. 

Ken Nevard

Director of Team Training

Ken has an extensive athletic history, including playing, coaching, administrative and officiating experience.  Ken was a scholar-athlete at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he served as Captain of the lacrosse team, and twice earned All MAC Conference honors and was voted Most Valuable Offensive player. 

Following graduation, Ken was instrumental in the development of the Clifton Youth Lacrosse program. He also co-founded the Wayne PAL youth lacrosse program, served on the Lacrosse Board and coached both the Boys and Girls teams from 2002-2014. In addition, Ken served as the VP of the Wayne Valley HS Girls Lacrosse Booster Club from 2016-2018 and formed a Men’s Over 40 Lacrosse League in Wayne. Ken currently officiates girls’ youth and high school lacrosse and coaches in the Wayne PAL Lacrosse program. 

Along with his extensive competing and coaching background, Ken has raised 4 children that excelled in lacrosse, soccer, gymnastics and competitive cheerleading, giving him a unique perspective on youth sports training, which will serve him well as Director of Team Training.
