Grant is a passionate athlete and sports enthusiast who has played and excelled in multiple sports throughout his life. Born and raised in Burlington, NC, he grew up playing soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis which helped him develop a strong work ethic and a love for athletics.
He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2013 where he played for the club soccer team and participated in numerous other intramural sports. As an active adult he still enjoys the competitive nature of athletics and honing his skills on the tennis court. After 7 years as a mortgage professional in the Atlanta and Charlotte market, Grant was ready for a career change that was more aligned with his passion and values. His experience as a counselor at Victory Junction drew him to the idea of working with young athletes to help them develop their skills and reach their full potential.
Grant believes that sports can teach valuable life skills, such as perseverance, resilience, teamwork, and leadership – important traits that benefit young athletes far beyond their athletic pursuits. Through Redline Athletics-Idlewild, he is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and challenging environment to help young athletes develop into confident, well-rounded individuals that are prepared for success both on and off the field.
Grant met his wife, Taylor, in college, and the two live in South Charlotte with their rescue dog Nala. Together, they enjoy staying active, whether it’s traveling, playing tennis or doing yoga together.
Sarah joins the Redline team after spending 3 seasons with the Minnesota Twins as a strength and conditioning coach at their player development center in Florida. During her time with the Twins Sarah worked with all levels from rookie league to the Majors. She also spent time as a rehab strength and conditioning coach where she worked with all parts of player development to get athletes healthy and back on the field.
Prior to being with the Twins, Sarah worked at IMG Academy as a strength and conditioning coach, where she worked with athletes ranging from middle school to professional athletes. Sarah started as an intern at IMG Academy in 2019 and became a full-time staff member in 2020 after finishing her Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University. While at Michigan State, Sarah interned with women’s hockey as a strength and conditioning coach. Sarah also worked for the United States Tennis Association as a strength and conditioning fellow. During this fellowship, she worked with professional tennis players both at the USTA player development center and highly ranked juniors around the country.
Originally from Michigan, Sarah enjoys going back up North to see her family whenever she can. She particularly loves playing with her two furry brothers, George and Wally (3-year-old black labs). Sarah also has a passion for lifting weights, which led to her qualifying for USAW Nationals in 2021. In her free time Sarah enjoys cooking, going to farmers markets, trying new ice cream spots, and becoming fluent in Spanish.
