Grant is a passionate athlete and sports enthusiast who has played and excelled in multiple sports throughout his life. Born and raised in Burlington, NC, he grew up playing soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis which helped him develop a strong work ethic and a love for athletics.
He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2013 where he played for the club soccer team and participated in numerous other intramural sports. As an active adult he still enjoys the competitive nature of athletics and honing his skills on the tennis court. After 7 years as a mortgage professional in the Atlanta and Charlotte market, Grant was ready for a career change that was more aligned with his passion and values. His experience as a counselor at Victory Junction drew him to the idea of working with young athletes to help them develop their skills and reach their full potential.
Grant believes that sports can teach valuable life skills, such as perseverance, resilience, teamwork, and leadership – important traits that benefit young athletes far beyond their athletic pursuits. Through Redline Athletics-Idlewild, he is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and challenging environment to help young athletes develop into confident, well-rounded individuals that are prepared for success both on and off the field.
Grant met his wife, Taylor, in college, and the two live in South Charlotte with their rescue dog Nala. Together, they enjoy staying active, whether it’s traveling, playing tennis or doing yoga together.
Devin graduated from SUNY Brockport in upstate New York with a degree in exercise science where he developed a passion for performance training. After receiving his degree, he moved to Raleigh where his coaching career began at Redline Sutton Square as an assistant coach. Since then, he has been a part of the Redline family and has contributed to the development of numerous athletes across all ages and sports, including those with opportunities to play in college. Devin has his CSCS certification and is Vertimax certified, but is always looking to further his knowledge about sports performance training. His goal is to help as many people as he can reach their full potential and avoid injuries through training that is research and evidence based.

God’s blessed me with the opportunity to combine my passion with my purpose. To stay around sports in the form of a coach allows me to mentor, influence, motivate and lead young athletes. I was blessed to earn opportunities to play sports throughout high school & college but I did a lot of the preparation & training on my own. When I finished playing college football I wanted to make a difference & provide young athletes with opportunities I didn’t have when I was them.
“I just want to be the type of coach I wish I had for these kids when I was in their shoes”
Background:
Originally from South Bend, Indiana. In high school I earned a scholarship to play football @ Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, NC. After my freshman year I transferred to Virginia State University & graduated 2 years later with my degree in Exercise Science. Worked as an NFL Combine Coach @ Michael Johnson Performance in Dallas, TX. Worked as a Performance Specialist @ EXOS in San Diego during an NFL Offseason program. Worked as a sports performance coach @ Defy Genetics during my time @ Virginia State. Worked @ Redline – Peachtree Corners & DASH Performance in the Atlanta area before moving to Greensboro, NC. In Greensboro I was the Director of Performance @ AWOL Sports Performance before moving down to Charlotte.
Lifestyle:
Everything in my life revolves around coaching. When I’m not training athletes I’m coaching defensive backs for my high school football team. My focus is to turn around struggling high school football programs into state championship contenders. When I’m not with my athletes I spend my time watching film, working out, doing yoga, or spending time with my dogs. I have 2 Siberian Huskies – Memphis & Khiro – they’re my peace in this world. My plan one day is to own an NFL & NcBA franchise. Favorite teams are the Atlanta Falcons & Memphis Grizzlies.
Mentality:
I don’t believe in the words “if”, “can’t” & “try”. Your mentality is everything, I don’t care how many drills you do, laps you run, & weights you lift if your mentality isn’t to be the absolute best and dominate in every aspect of your sport the rest of it won’t matter. You have to choose to win, in everything you do. All the time. My biggest responsibility as a coach is to get kids to believe 110% in themselves and their abilities so they play fast, physical, and with a relentless mentality. I don’t believe in excuses or blaming others, work harder, figure it out, find a way to win, at all costs.
I pride myself in my 3 greatest traits:
Consistency, Effort, & Discipline
“Please don’t think I’m here to make you better, I’m here to make you the best”
Eric, born and raised in Charlotte, NC, developed a passion for sports, nutrition, and training from a young age. Guided by his father and grandfather, he initially focused on baseball, later expanding his involvement to high school and collegiate sports. His passion deepened in college, particularly after facing a health setback and a year-long misdiagnosis that taught him the importance of proper nutrition and exercise.
After college, Eric began working for professional wrestlers like Nikita Koloff and Ric Flair as an APEX Fitness and Nutrition Tech. Shortly thereafter, he was recruited by Eric Hillman, owner of Europa Sports Products, where he played a key role in growing the company into the largest sports supplement distributor in the world. This experience allowed him to collaborate with top strength coaches and sports nutritionists in collegiate and professional sports.
Eric later opened his own gym, outfitted with high-end equipment, attracting top powerlifters and strongmen in the Carolinas. Competing with these athletes and working with elite coaches shaped his vision, mindset, consistency, and the development of good habits.
Currently, Eric collaborates with companies in the supplement and longevity sectors and advises college coaches on refueling, hydration, and strength training for athletes. He also shares his passion for fitness with his 8-year-old son, teaching him a variety of sports and celebrating the milestones that affirm the value of investing in youth.
