HOW WE TRAIN

Comprehensive training to build Athleticism, Resilience and Confidence.

Speed & Agility

What is Speed & Agility?

Moving the body in one direction as fast as possible coupled with the ability to accelerate, decelerate, stabilize, and quickly change directions with proper posture.

Why is Speed & Agility important?

Athletes experience more success and have more confidence on their chosen field of play when they work to improve their speed and agility. They’ll react faster, move more fluidly, and make more plays.

How do we train Speed & Agility?

Redline teaches proper running mechanics and posture while incorporating dedicated focus on linear speed, lateral speed, footwork, change of direction, jumping and landing.

What is Strength & Conditioning?

Engaging in activities to improve performance by applying the general sports training principles of overload, reversibility, progression, individualization, periodization, and specificity. (ref 1, 2)

Why is Strength & Conditioning important?

To achieve their full potential, aspiring Athletes must understand proper posture, balance their movement patterns, build supporting and stabilizing muscle groups, improve mobility, and enhance their coordination. (ref 3)

How we train Strength & Conditioning?

Redline believes in age-appropriate strength and resistance training. We prioritize safety in every movement by focusing on proper mechanics first, followed by consistency, and then intensity.

Injury Prevention

What is Injury Prevention?

The outcome of the collective training activities consistently performed by an athlete to help him/her avoid major or season-ending injury.

Why is Injury Prevention important?

Athletes want to be able to perform at their best, and they never want to miss out on games or competitions due to injury.  Well-rounded Athletes who train their body and movement patterns will be better prepared, more resilient, and able to thrive throughout the demands of a season, postseason and beyond.

How do we train Injury Prevention?

Redline provides a comprehensive and well-rounded program to develop speed, agility, strength, body awareness, movement mechanics, and posture. In all, it’s a great way to help ensure your Athlete stays strong, ready, and on their chosen field of play.

Marlene Lee

Manager/Director of Sports Performance

Marlene is originally from Northern VA, coaching in the sports performance field since 2019.
Growing up she was involved in many different sports like track and field, soccer, and ballet. Marlene started to invest in her own fitness journey back in 2017, which led her to become passionate about the sport’s performance world. Her interest in psychology and the world of mental health has brought a new light to her approach to coaching athletes of all ages. Her approach to coaching is to not only coach the athlete in their physical attributes, but their mental as well. Marlene started working towards a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science back in the Fall of 2021 and is actively always looking for new opportunities to learn.
Marlene has experience working with many different sports like Pride Girl’s Lacrosse out of Washington D.C., Metro Girl’s Volleyball, Loudoun Boy’s Soccer team, and many more. One of her goals is to be as versatile within her coaching as possible, in order to help as many different athletes as possible.
Marlene obtained her CPT cert through NASM back in 2018 and is working towards sports performance-based certifications.

Emily Davis

SPORTS PERFORMANCE SPECIALIST

Emily is a Kansas City native growing up in Independence playing softball competitively and in highschool. She went to Truman High School winning state senior year. She went on to play in college at Southwest Baptist University, where she also was an athletic training student, working with football, mens soccer, women’s basketball, and softball. After graduating in 2017 with a Bachelors in Sports Medicine, she went on to obtain her Masters in Strength and Conditioning and Human Movement Science. While completing her masters program she worked as a Wellness Coach. She obtained her CPT in 2021 and her CSCS in 2022.

Emily suffered from two different injuries throughout her career, resulting in surgery and physical therapy. Her experience throughout both injuries sparked her interest in the sports performance world and the importance of injury prevention. Her goals are to teach athletes how to move correctly and give the tools for preventing injuries. Emily wants her athletes to learn what moving correctly feels like, so they can identify when they make an error or when they are facing a potential injury. She knows the mental battle missing games or seasons puts on an athlete and her goal is to reduce the chance of athletes being in that situation. Teaching proper movement mechanics and mobility creates a healthy base for the athlete to improve their performance on the field and to set them up for a healthy athletic career and life.

“Growing up playing softball my goal was to end up in the sports performance world. I spent the majority of my life on the field or in the gym and it is still my favorite place to be. I know I can be myself and leave everything else behind. I want my athletes to learn this love”
