On June 18, 2010, Kate Dickman verbally committed to play softball at the University of Utah.

Kate started training at RedLine in the beginning of 2009, and has bought into the importance of serious athletic training. She came to RedLine already a gifted athlete, and has thrived under the guided instruction of the training staff!

As a freshman at Capistrano Valley HS, Kate was voted Newcomer of the Year. As a sophomore, she was voted Most Inspirational Player. Her junior year she was voted Team MVP and also garnered South Coast All League Honors.

Kate is currently playing at the highest level possible for her age in the club softball arena. She is a standout on the 18 Gold Team-Courage. Since the beginning of the summer season, Kate has been a statistical leader in nearly every offensive and defensive catagory!

We are so proud of her and will have her ready to pursue her collegiate softball career and give her a head start over the other athletes!

We are pleased to announce that Lauren Roknich has enrolled at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and will be competing on Creighton’s NCAA Division I Women’s Crew Team.

As a senior, Lauren was recently named 2010 Scholar-Athlete of the Year at JSerra Catholic High School, and was recognized similarly by the Trinity League.

At JSerra, Lauren collected eight (8) varsity letters, including four (4) in water polo and four (4) in softball, and served as a team captain on each team. Lauren earned an All-Trinity League Second Team selection as a water polo player, but we at RedLine expected Lauren to accept an offer to play Division I softball (especially Dan, her hitting coach). Lauren surprised everyone by being recruited to multiple college rowing teams as well.

Lauren will be majoring in biology and pre-med at Creighton. We believe Lauren is a great example of the versatility of the athletes in our All-Sports training program at RedLine.

At 6’9″, 178 pounds, and limited pitching experience, Max’s dream was to play Division 1 baseball. In less then a year of training with the staff at RedLine, Max added nearly 30 pounds of strength and 9 mph on his fastball! Through his hard work and consistent training, he has made his way to Seattle University.
Max may be RedLine’s greatest success story, but it was his determination and will to get to the highest level that made his goal possible. We are so happy for Max and we know that he will continue to improve because of the incredible work ethic that he learned and instilled here at RedLine!

(July 19) Barber Motorsports Park provided the location for some of the season’s best racing as Connor De Phillippi, a RedLine Elite client, extended his points lead and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver Court Vernon capitalized on his twin poles to earn his first Skip Barber National victory.

Saturday’s Race 1 quickly turned into a four-car break away, with the top four qualifiers; Court Vernon, De Phillippi, Felipe Polehtto and Kyle Marcelli pulling away from the pack to fight for the lead amongst themselves. Lap after lap, the quartet passed and re-passed each other; using the draft and their momentum to briefly gain advantage before surrendering falling back into the group.

This week his dream came true when he signed with Seattle University in their first recruiting class in school history. He is excited with his choice, and chose Seattle over Loyola Marymount, University of California-Irvine, and Colorado State-Pueblo.

Seattle University head coach Donny Harrel came down from the Great Northwest, contacted us to inquire if we had any D1-quality arms at RedLine, and from that Blaine has become the 25th scholarship that RedLine has orchestrated. We are ecstatic for Blaine and wish him the best!

We offer this promise to all of our RedLine Family: if you have a dream to play at a higher level, we can deliver!

While at Capo, Kevin was a three year letter winner and the captain of the 2009 CIF Championship team. Kevin was named to the All South Coast League Team as a junior and senior, and as a senior he earned 2nd Team All CIF Southern Section Honors.

The coaches at Oklahoma State have high aspirations for Kevin. They signed him to the largest scholarship in his recruiting class and want him to be a two way player for the Cowboys. Playing first base and pitching has been a role that Kevin is used to and wants to continue while at OSU.

Cincinnati Quarterback Carson Palmer, a RedLine client, looked good at minicamp last week, but admits that his arm strength needs some work. The quarterback’s plan to strength the arm is no ancient Chinese secret. In fact, the solution to the problem is a fairly easy fix.

“Throw,” Palmer said. “It’s just like when a track guy needs to get faster. You don’t do 5,000 squats, you run and run some more. To get your arm in shape you throw and continue to throw. So I will be throwing all summer long as well as in training camp.”

Palmer missed 12 games last season with a serious elbow injury. Now the former Pro Bowler is looking to rebound and lead his team to the playoffs. Palmer’s offseason preparation has included the OTAs and minicamp. These are the first steps in his return to prominence.

“It’s great to be back,” Palmer said. “It’s an exciting time having a minicamp just before training camp. When you have them early you’re really not prepared. Whereas this team was ready for camp conditioning-wise, but more importantly knowledgeable of the offense and defense. I think we have the right mindset and confidence going into training camp to have a great camp and preseason.”

Palmer looked really sharp throwing against defenders in the team’s three-day minicamp. He zipped the ball around the field effortlessly and was precise with his throws. Although the quarterback’s arm strength isn’t quite what it used to be, he still had enough to make all the throws with some mustard.

Palmer is considered one of the most prolific passers in the league, throwing for 15,630 yards and 107 touchdowns in six seasons with the Bengals. The team has counted heavily on the quarterback’s arm and now he will be forced do it with a young receiving corps. Palmer admits that it will be no easy task.

“It’s definitely going to be tough,” he said. “We have a tough offense to understand and we have a lot of new guys in a lot of new spots. More importantly we have guys who are hungry. We have guys who not only want to win a job, but who want personal success as well as team success. When you have young guys it’s always scary, but when they’re hungry that’s all you can ask for.”

Of course it will take some time for the new components on offense to gel, but things appeared to be coming together rather quickly in minicamp.

The quarterback knows that he can’t do it alone and will need help from his 52 teammates in order to get the job done.

“We expect to win,” Palmer said. “We have a mature group of guys who understand that you can’t half-do things. The other teams and players in this league are too good. You have to play as a unit and play together. We realize when we do that we can win.”
