Sports Specific Training for Race Car DriversWe are really excited to announce the addition of Marko Cavka to our already stellar training staff! Marko has come to us with an incredible resume. He was drafted in the 2004 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and played on the offensive line for two plus years. Later in his career, he played two years in the Canadian Football League and also two years in Europe, where he led his team to two World Bowls!!!

Marko was a scholarship winner at UC-Sacramento State, where he had a 42 consecutive game starting streak while attending the university. However, Cavka is not only limited to football. While growing up, he played club volleyball as well.

Many of you may not realize, but RedLine’s entire training staff has reached the professional ranks!!! So we know what it takes to get to the desired destination of our athletes. Many training places put a premium on the academia of training; whether it is speed, strength, or skills themselves, however, the ownership of RedLine takes it one step further. We want our staff to be able to speak from professional personal experience as well as know the latest techniques being taught by the pros, at major universities, and also by the fitness field gurus!!!

RedLine Cares!!

I just want to say thank you, RedLine, for all you have done for my boys. The dedication to what you do and the enthusiasm are appreciated, but it goes way beyond that. When my oldest started working out at RedLine, I knew immediately, after seeing what you do that he would eat it up! All he’s ever thought about is play, play, play, work, work, work, and the more he plays, the more he wants to work! He has grown so much and I know that RedLine is a big influence on him. The training staff are people he looks up to, big time! On the other hand, when my youngest came to me and told me he wanted to do RedLine, I was a bit nervous. Whereas my oldest has enough confidence for an entire team, the younger forgot to get in that line when he was born. I’ve always known he had every bit as much physical talent as his older brother, but he never knew it! Well, Little Mister “I Suck” has taken to RedLine like a duck to water. Now he lives, breathes, and sleeps baseball!! When I see him, hour after hour, in the backyard throwing the ball against the wall, or hitting the wiffle balls, or dragging his dad to the field, it makes me want to cry. It hasn’t been easy being the “little brother”, both on the field and in the classroom, but he is starting to believe in himself and he’s finally found something he truly loves! He looks forward to every day he gets to come see the RedLine guys! As a teacher, I “get” that kids look up to certain people, and as a mom of these two boys, I know they are obviously going to look up to athletes. I am thrilled that they have gotten to know RedLine’s staff, and truly appreciate that they care! My boys think the world of RedLine, and for that I am truly thankful!

RedLine Makes a Difference!

My daughter has always loved to play sports. But thanks to the trainers at RedLine Athletics, I’ve watched my daughter make a noticeable transformation to an athlete ready to compete at the college level.

Not only are the trainers at RedLine generous with their time, but they take a personal interest in the success of their athletes on and off the field, court, or pool. Their expertise is obvious – from implementing the latest professional training techniques to monitoring and addressing conditions that might lead to injury – I have quickly grown comfortable that my daughter is in a professionally managed, but fun, high-energy environment that keeps her motivated. The fact that Lauren eagerly stops at RedLine for training or batting practice after a long day of school or after her regular team practices speaks volumes for the culture created for the athletes at RedLine.

Speed, Power, Core. It appears as though those words are more than a motto at RedLine. I’ve seen my daughter improve in all three categories of fitness. I only wish I had an opportunity to train at a place like RedLine when I was a high school athlete. The atmosphere at RedLine is contagious.

For any parent who places a value on personal training, and personal attention for their children, RedLine is THE facility in South Orange County worth your consideration.

RedLine Athletics in Orange CountyWe told you that there were new and exciting things happening at RedLine this coming year, and it finally happened. RedLine Athletics has expanded into the adjacent building to the north of the current location. The training facility has added an office, and A LOT of warehouse space for the skill portion of the training sessions. We have hung two hitting tunnels. A basketball skills area is in the works (to be completed shortly), and management is also working on meeting the needs of our volleyball athletes by installing a net.

However, most importantly, there is no way we could have pulled this off without our loyal and dedicated clients!!! We owe each and everyone of you a huge THANK YOU, and we look forward to showing you around the expansion of YOUR training facility.

Thanks again for making RedLine what it is today. See you soon!

A Look Back at 2009

2009 was a year of ups and downs, to say the least. However, the only down was out of our control! With the state of our national economic situation RedLine felt the burden like most of you, but with that we were able to show that RedLine is more then just about making money and shuffling clients through as quickly as possible. We want all our loyal clients to know that we appreciate each of you and truly want the best for you.

Now on the upside… first of all, we got this killer new site!!! We hope that it is informative and helpful, yet enjoyable and easy to browse around.

RedLine has added trainers, of the highest quality (Mike Elkerson formerly with the Atlanta Braves, Mike Bolio recently from the NFL-Europe). We’ve brought back a former intern (Brad Hinkle of the Cleveland Indians. Who by the way, got married on Dec 19th.), and advanced a trainer (Dan Cummins formerly with the New York Mets) to be the head of the Baseball Department. We’ve also added a outside recruiter, Neal Schultz, who goes around to schools and other athletic organizations to promote RedLine.

In the process of gaining all these great trainers we’ve lost of few along the way. Alex Gonzales decided to go back to school and continue his baseball career, and Dave Elecciri has pursued his music career. We wish both of them the best of luck in their ventures.

Over the past year our clients have reached their goals and gotten the scholarships they thought were unattainable. We’ve had little guys make All Stars. We’ve had some loose weight to make a weight division in Pop Warner Football. Some even went from bench warmers to team leaders and major contributors. We’ve had eighth graders go into high school and not only make the freshman team, but also JV and Varsity in a number of sports!!!

Kevin Chambers and the Capo Valley Baseball Team won CIF-SS!!! Then he was off to Oklahoma State University on a scholarship, even after being drafted by the Detroit Tiger in the June amateur draft. Leyla Simmons also won CIF-SS with the Dana Hills Tennis Team, and she too is at Oklahoma State University on a tennis scholarship. Joel Atkinson, San Clemente’s Shortstop, singed his scholarship AT REDLINE to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall of 2010! (Watch his video on the Home Page) Connor de Phillippi raced in and won the Skip Barbor School of Racing Series, and now his future is just starting to open up in the Indy style racing world. RedLine helped place Blaine Jones and Max Whieldon up at Seattle University on baseball scholarships. Zack Richmond signed his scholarship to Colorado State-Pueblo. Robby Ross signed his scholarship to Point Loma Nazarene University. Janae O’Connor signed and is playing volleyball at BIOLA University. Chrissie Massrey gave her verbal commitment to attend the academically challenging Tufts University to play softball for them. Kris Paulino gave his verbal commitment to play outfield for University of California-Irvine. Rich Kemp signed his scholarship to pitch for Cal State-East Bay. Melissa Chavez is playing volleyball at Saddleback College and leads her team in nearly every offensive category. Devynn Sharpe competed and took 6th at the US Figure Skating Nationals for couples this December, and now her sites are set on the next winter Olympics, seems how she is under of legal competing age limit of 16!

Well, as you can see, the clients that are consistent and put in the work have a lot of good things going their way! We would love to have more stories like each one of these, and it could be you or your young athlete! 2010 looks extremely promising for our clients! So, let’s get to work and aim for the stars!!!! Happy New Year
