Three more Gauchos sign
Richmond, Kemp and Jones announce they will play baseball for 4-year universities.
By MARK GARCIA
The Orange County Register
The Saddleback baseball team ran its total of commitments to nine this past week when three more players signed on the dotted line with 4-year universities.
Sophomores Zack Richmond and Rich Kemp along with freshman Blaine Jones all made decisions regarding their futures, according to the baseball office.
Richmond, a right-handed pitcher from Chino Hills High , committed to Colorado State-Pueblo after pitching in four games for the Gauchos in 2009. He is 6-foot-2, 230 pounds and plans to major in psychology.
Kemp decided to stay in-state as he committed to Cal State East Bay. The right-handed pitcher from Mission Viejo High pitched in 20 games for Saddleback, finishing with a 4.43 ERA and striking our 28 batters in 42.2 innings of work.
Opposing batters hit just .267 off Kemp, who led Gaucho pitchers that started five or more games. He plans to major in history.
Right-handed pitcher Blaine Jones became the first freshman to commit during the off-season as he opted to leave after one season to play at Seattle University, a new NCAA Division I program that will start baseball in 2010.
Jones came to Saddleback from Santa Margarita Catholic High School and appeared in 11 games for the Gauchos, striking out 31 batters in just 29 innings of work.

Max Whieldon came to RedLine with a HUGE mountain to climb! At 6’9″, 178 pounds, and limited pitching experience, Max’s dream was to play Division 1 baseball. In less then a year of training with the staff at RedLine, Max added nearly 30 pounds of strength and 9 mph on his fastball! Through his hard work and consistent training, he has made his way to Seattle University.
Max may be RedLine’s greatest success story, but it was his determination and will to get to the highest level that made his goal possible. We are so happy for Max and we know that he will continue to improve because of the incredible work ethic that he learned and instilled here at RedLine!

Leeds, Ala. (July 19) Barber Motorsports Park provided the location for some of the season’s best racing as Connor De Phillippi, a RedLine Elite client, extended his points lead and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver Court Vernon capitalized on his twin poles to earn his first Skip Barber National victory.
Saturday’s Race 1 quickly turned into a four-car break away, with the top four qualifiers; Court Vernon, De Phillippi, Felipe Polehtto and Kyle Marcelli pulling away from the pack to fight for the lead amongst themselves. Lap after lap, the quartet passed and re-passed each other; using the draft and their momentum to briefly gain advantage before surrendering falling back into the group.

Before I came to RedLine I thought that athletic ability was all you needed to play any sport. However, RedLine has showed me that being an athlete is much more than ability. They have taught me so much and have sculpted me into more than just an athlete. RedLine has helped me take my golf game to completely different level.
Thank you, RedLine.
